Puget Sound Expedition

Why Puget Sound?
Puget Sound is not just a body of water; it's a vibrant ecosystem teeming with life, both marine and terrestrial. This unique area is home to countless species, including migratory birds, marine mammals, and lush underwater kelp forests. However, it faces numerous threats from pollution, urban sprawl, and climate change, making our conservation efforts more vital than ever.

Our Mission
Our expedition is a comprehensive journey to document, analyze, and advocate for Puget Sound. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, including 360-degree imagery and other aquatic data we are mapping over 2,500 miles of shoreline which have never been documented in this manner before. This monumental task will help us and others understand the current state of the ecosystem, track changes over time, and identify areas needing urgent protection.

The Complexity and Uniqueness of Our Work
The Puget Sound Expedition is complex due to the extensive variety of habitats and the logistical challenges posed by the region's geography. The uniqueness of our work lies in the integration of technology with traditional conservation methods, allowing us to create a dynamic model of environmental stewardship that can be replicated in other coastal regions around the world.

How You Can Join Us
